The Brackett family settled Limington in 1783 and planted apple trees almost immediately; Manley Brackett is the eighth generation to farm these 75 acres, making Brackett's Orchards one of the oldest orchards in Maine.Nine apple varieties, including Honeycrisp, fill the pick-your-own rows, and fall turns the place into a fairground: hayrides, an Orchard Express train, apple slingshots and air-powered apple cannons, brick oven pizza, a food truck, and a pumpkin patch. The farm stand at 224 Sokokis Avenue sells apples, cider, cider donuts, homemade fruit pies, whoopie pies, turkey pies, chili, potatoes, honey, jams, and maple syrup.
