Eden Acres Family Farm exists because a New Jersey family moved to East Waterboro in 2014 and saw promise in an abandoned orchard. Restoration began in 2015, and owner and orchardist Bryan Quincannon now tends more than 700 apple trees at 255 Ossipee Hill Road.
The orchard grows over 30 varieties of MOFGA-certified organic heirloom apples, pressed into raw sweet cider and Quincannon apple cider vinegar, organic, raw, and bottled with the mother. Pest control is delightfully low-tech and precise: compost teas, foliar nutrients, carefully timed nematodes, and a patrol of free-range guinea hens.
