Frith Farm in Scarborough started in November 2010 when Daniel bought 14 acres protected by an agricultural conservation easement, naming it for an earlier family farm in England. From thirty CSA families the farm has grown to about 300 members, with roughly ten employees in an education-based work model.
The vegetables and herbs are certified organic and grown no-till, with no pesticides and no tractors driving the fields. There's a CSA in half and full shares, a farm stand in the historic barn, and a Bread CSA, with EBT/SNAP accepted, sliding scale pricing, and barter options keeping the food within everyone's reach.
