Full Fork Farm works 102 acres in Kennebec County, about a mile and a half from the northeast corner of China Lake, and it's planted for the long haul. In 2020 they put 13 acres into perennial nuts and fruit in a complex agroforestry system, backed by three SARE Farmer Research Grants and MOFGA's journeyperson program.

The variety is astonishing: chestnuts, heartnuts, and buartnuts; apples, pears, peaches, plums, pawpaws, and mulberries; strawberries, honeyberries, kiwiberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, dwarf sour cherries, saskatoons, hazelnuts, and rhubarb. A self-service farmstand at 154 Dutton Road sells the harvest, grown with practices that track organic standards even before certification.
