Goranson Farm in Dresden has been in the family since the 1960s, when Jan Goranson's parents, Everett and Geneva, grew potatoes on this land. Jan and Rob Johanson have carried it forward since 1985, now joined by their sons Carl and Göran, and the whole operation is certified organic.
They grow organic vegetables, greens, and strawberries, raise meat, and boil wood-fired maple syrup, selling through the farm store at 250 River Road, farmers' markets in Portland, Boothbay, Damariscotta, and Bath in summer and winter, a Free Choice CSA, mail order, and restaurants across the Portland and Midcoast regions.
