About the Farm
Gould Acres Farm in Stow is proof you can build good ground from scratch. Brad and Kathy Gould and their two daughters started with a family garden on clay-gravel soil, improving it year after year with loam, cow manure, lime, cover crops, and compost. After a strong 2018 season and a winter of hydroponic trials, they built greenhouses and went commercial.
They now grow greens, lettuce, cucumbers, peas, beans, root vegetables, squash, cole crops, corn, and herbs in high tunnels and controlled environments, with hydroponics running through the winter. The farm follows no-till permaculture practices, uses no pesticides or synthetic fertilizer, and raises pastured poultry for eggs.
