Lakeside Orchards and Farm Market has been growing Maine apples in Manchester for more than 40 years, on a 200-acre farm about 20 minutes from downtown Augusta. Around 60 acres are planted to apples, including McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun, and Honeycrisp.
Beyond the orchard there are blueberries, raspberries, and honeyberries, plus vegetables from sweet corn and tomatoes to peas, garlic, edamame, and salad greens, all sold at the Farm Market store at 318 Readfield Road on Route 17.
