About the Farm

Mid Coast Mushrooms in Belmont grew out of one ambitious homestead: a solar shed turned tiny home, then a chicken coop, a greenhouse, fruit trees, and finally a 2,400-square-foot indoor mushroom facility powered by 10,000 KW of solar.

They grow oyster varieties and lion's mane indoors, forage wild chaga, and dehydrate the harvest into dried and powdered mushrooms, a tincture, and a gourmet mushroom spice blend. The farm's next act is closing the loop, turning spent mushroom substrate into compost, worm castings, and biochar.
