About the Farm
North Haven Oyster Company grows oysters twelve miles out in Penobscot Bay, on a tidal inlet along Middle Road on North Haven Island, a 70-minute ferry ride from Rockland. Adam and Michelle Campbell started the farm in 1999.
Their oysters are bottom-grown in a sun-exposed inlet where the incoming tide meets outflow from Hightie's Pond, and the place shows in the shell: round, emerald green, and heavy for their size.
