Pleasant Pond Orchard in Richmond is home in the most literal sense: the owners' house sits in the middle of the orchard, and years of foraging led them to grow fruit worth sharing. The orchard and shop open Saturdays, June through October.

More than 60 apple varieties grow here, plus Bartlett and Bosc pears, peaches, Superior and Red Heart plums, cherries, grapes, highbush blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. The shop sells from-scratch galettes and scones, coffee, cider, honey, maple syrup, vinegars, sauces, small-batch chocolate bars, and vegetables, and the growing leans gentle: flowering groundcover, cover crops, kaolin clay, neem oil, and pheromone strips.
