About the Farm
Red Brook Honey began in the summer of 2007 when a friend needed a home for a couple of honey bee colonies and the Scarborough couple who took them in never looked back. They now keep around 16 full-sized colonies backed by several small nucleus colonies.
They harvest raw honey, propolis, pollen, and wax following certified naturally grown best practices, with light spring honey and dark summer honey among the offerings. They're also the people to call when bees show up where they shouldn't be: they rescue swarms, remove colonies from structures, and mentor new beekeepers across south and central Maine.
