About the Farm

Squier Family Farm began its journey in 2011 on family land in the hills of Tinmouth, Vermont, when Meadow and Josh Squier, along with Meadow's brother Wheaton, started with just a quarter acre of vegetables, six chickens, and two goats. What began as a modest venture has slowly expanded through years of trialing different techniques, enterprises, and approaches to agriculture, reflecting the family's commitment to learning and growth in their mountain farming adventure.

The farm took a significant step forward in 2018 when the family purchased adjacent land, beginning the process of opening and reestablishing old fields and farmland. Their vision centers on creating large silvopastures that integrate natural hardwoods and softwoods alongside fruit and nut trees, demonstrating their dedication to innovative agricultural practices. This expansion represents their commitment to building farming systems that work harmoniously with the challenging terrain of Vermont's steep, rocky northeast mountains.

At its heart, Squier Family Farm operates as a small family operation focused on regenerative agriculture, with the owners taking their role as stewards of both land and animals seriously. Their main crop is organic grass, which feeds their herd of goats and organic beef cattle across their 300-acre farm. The family takes pride in developing farming methods that provide ecological benefits while delivering high-quality food to their customers, embodying their belief that agriculture can be both nourishing to the community and beneficial to the broader ecological environment.
