About the Farm

The Honey Exchange began with a single backyard hive in 2008; by 2011 Phil and Meghan Gaven and their daughters Maura and Caitlin had opened a Portland storefront devoted entirely to bees and what they make.

The shop runs a honey tasting bar and sells local and varietal honeys and honey-based mustards, plus everything a beekeeper needs: hive parts in 8- and 10-frame sizes, package bees each spring, classes for beginners, and a honey extraction service when your own hives come through.
