Tibbetts Farms in Lyman traces back to a self-serve roadside stand called Honest Johns that John and Elaine Tibbetts opened in 1985. Jonathan started working the farm full time in 2000, Kelly joined in 2004, they married in 2010 and took over in 2016; the farm now employs four year-round and ten seasonal workers.
They run a greenhouse center and raise Angus/Simmental beef, sold without growth hormones or additives as whole and half animals or meat packages, plus Katahdin sheep whose day job includes contracted solar-field grazing across Maine and New Hampshire. Hay in every format, bulk compost, custom growing and planting, and delivery round out the list.
