Wellwood Orchards, Inc. has been owned and operated by Roy Mark since 1981, when he purchased what was then primarily a wholesale business with a small retail store in need of extensive work. Roy transformed the orchard with decades of sweat equity, making the bold decision to prune all the apple trees down to ground picking height and permanently putting away the ladders to create a Pick Your Own experience for families.

Over the years, Roy expanded the farm's offerings by integrating new crops such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, while adding attractions like a petting zoo and weekend wagon rides during apple season. The small retail store grew into a large, well-stocked Country Store, and the farm became known for its spectacular orchard views and memorable family experiences. Roy credits his success to the help of countless staff, family, and friends throughout the years, noting that nearly every teenager in town worked at the orchard at some point.

Today, Roy shares ownership of the corporation with his four daughters Aggie, Linda, Patty, and Sherry, and the farm has become a beloved family tradition for multiple generations of visitors. As a grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of thirteen, Roy understands the importance of creating lasting memories and continues to evolve the business while maintaining its commitment to providing safe, affordable experiences that bring families together.
