Weskeag Oyster Company farms over seven acres of the Weskeag River estuary in South Thomaston, an operation running since 2000 and anchored by the historic Kittredge property purchased in 2013. Two father-and-daughter teams work the water, including Aubrie and her dad Kevin, with retired UPS driver Chuck and his dog Gus rounding out the crew.
Their oysters come two ways: bottom-grown Submarines and floating-bag Snow Points. Solar panels power the pumps and refrigerators, a share of sales goes to ocean conservation, and guided boat tours end with oysters sampled right off the farm dock.
