About the Farm
Windy Hill Farm Market sits on Windham land the family has farmed since Edward Leighton bought it in 1914. His grandson Harry Winship Jr. ran the farm after him, and today Harry's youngest son Gary and Gary's son Edwin keep it going; Ronald Winship opened the family's retail store in 2000.
Their All Natural Angus beef is raised on grass and natural feed without growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics, on fields kept free of chemicals, commercial fertilizers, and pesticides. The family also raises pork, lamb, and chickens, milks cows for Oakhurst dairy, and stocks the market with local flour, cheese, honey, salsa, maple syrup, pies, jams, and candy.
