Ararat Farms in Lincolnville has been part of its community for generations and is in the middle of an ambitious revival. The property runs to hundreds of acres, mostly wooded, with about a dozen acres of fields and gardens; roughly three acres are currently cultivated as uncertified organic garden plots.The range is wide: market vegetables and fruit, medicinal and culinary herbs, upland rice and other grains, and dozens of mature fruit trees. A scratch kitchen cooks with what the farm and its neighbors grow, and the farm store, open seven days a week in summer, sells fresh baked goods, milk and cheese, Maine-raised meats, drinks, and dry goods.
