About the Farm
Arnold Farm Sugarhouse taps a 2,000-acre sugar bush near Jackman, in the Somerset County high country that forms the headwaters of the Penobscot River's north branch. The family's sugaring story started in 1979 with a bush in Saint-Méthode, Québec, and crossed the border in 1999 with an agreement to tap the Hilton lands.
The first Maine harvest in 2000 ran 18,000 taps. Growth has been steady ever since: 50,000 taps by 2012 and 80,000 by 2021, making Arnold Farm one of the larger maple producers in the state, still family-owned and family-run.
