About the Farm
Allison and Jesse run Fish Creek Oysters on Deer Isle with their dog Fritz supervising. Allison moved to the island in 2013 to work for fishmonger Ingrid Bengis-Palei; Jesse spent 20 years commercial fishing after starting out on Stevie Robbins' lobster boat.
They grow Eastern oysters in the water between Oak Point and Campbell Island, just inside Greenlaw Cove near Fish Creek, aiming for cocktail oysters around 2.5 inches. The young farm harvests Wednesdays, weather permitting, with orders ready for pickup Thursday or Friday.
