Piper Family Farm in Buckfield started in 1988 when Richard and Lynn Piper, with their children grown, filled their new acreage with Highland cattle, llamas, pigs, goats, and chickens. Their grandchildren have since grown up on the same land.

The Scottish Highland herd is the centerpiece: free-range, 100% grass-fed, and raised without growth hormones, digestive stimulants, or antibiotics since 1988, sold as dry-aged Piper Ranch natural beef. Lynn's Kitchen turns farm fruit and farm meat into homestyle pies made from scratch, and there are fresh eggs besides.
