About the Farm
Ridgeberry Farm has been growing wild blueberries on Appleton Ridge since John and Allison Boyington bought their first field in 1980; their children hand-raked the first crop in 1981. The Boyingtons now manage about 200 acres and crop roughly 100 each year.
It's still a family production line: John runs the fields and machinery, Allison keeps the books, drives trucks, and works the fresh pack line the family bought in 2010. They work with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and follow Integrated Pest Management and Best Management Practices on every acre of Maine wild blueberries.
