Stevenson Strawberry Farm in Wayne goes back to the 1970s, when Ford Stevenson planted a single acre of strawberries on an extension agent's advice. Ford and Sue built the pick-your-own trade, Tom Stevenson came home to the farm in 2005 and expanded it, and Tom and his wife Ashley bought the operation in 2015.
Strawberries are still the main event, with pick-your-own from late June through mid-July and pumpkins from late September through October. The Stevenson Farm Stand on Route 202 in Winthrop, opened in 2008, runs mid-June to mid-October and teams up with several local farms to keep the tables full.
