Gerry, a retired firefighter who grew up in Buxton, bought the land that became Tannery Meadows Cattle Company in spring 2004 and grew it from 65 acres to 155 acres of hayfield, pasture, and woods. Tamara, originally from Alberta with a Physical Therapy degree, moved to the farm in 2017; they married in 2018 and have five children.
About 80 head of grass-fed cattle are born and raised right on the farm, with no growth hormones. Chickens, dogs, donkeys, a horse, and a cat complete the population.
