Trip Whilden set his first lobster trap at eight years old, and Wickford Oyster Company runs on that lifetime of water knowledge. Based at the Wickford Town Dock in Rhode Island, Trip works alongside his son Gage and the crew of the Matrix.Their oysters grow in bottom culture gear in the flowing waters of Narragansett Bay, wintered over to develop deep cups and round shells. They also sell live lobsters and partner with URI and local conservation and education organizations.
